NEMSAS Releases Emergency Call Numbers for Medical Assistance Across Nigeria

ABUJA – The National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS) has released a list of emergency call centre numbers to enable Nigerians to quickly access medical assistance during emergencies across the country. The initiative is aimed at strengthening emergency response and ensuring that people in need can reach appropriate services without delay.
According to the information released by NEMSAS, the national emergency number 112 remains the primary line for emergency medical assistance, with several states also providing additional dedicated call centre numbers. The listed state numbers include emergency lines for Lagos, Abuja, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Ogun and other states.
NEMSAS advised members of the public to keep the relevant emergency numbers readily available, particularly families, motorists, pregnant women, caregivers and people living with medical conditions. The agency emphasised that emergency response services are available to provide rapid assistance, professional care and life-saving interventions when urgently required.
The emergency call centre information also indicates that some states have additional operational arrangements, while Benue and Imo are listed as not operational on the current schedule. Residents are therefore encouraged to use the appropriate available emergency channels in their respective locations and provide clear information when making distress calls.
NEMSAS said the emergency response system is designed around the principles of fast response, professional care and saving lives. Nigerians are encouraged to dial 112 in an emergency and save the number on their phones, as timely communication with emergency responders can make a critical difference in saving lives.
