
Encomiums from colleagues, friends, family and well wishers overflowed during the Chief Moji Makanjuola 70th Birthday Colloquium, which held virtually, on Zoom, on the 25th of April 2026.
Most especially were the praises heaped on the celebrant by her dear husband, Engineer Olatayo Makanjuola, during the virtual celebration. He recounted their initial meeting and his experiences with her through 50 years of marriage. He said he is grateful to God for her and that she is a wonderful partner, wife and mother.
The event was hosted by Dr. Tope Ojeme, and was well attended across the world with participants joining the virtual session, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm local time, from every part of Nigeria and around the world.
A feature video was displayed showing congratulatory messages from “Aunty” Moji’s children and grandchildren resident in various cities around the world.
Highlights of the event was the Fireside Chat, the Toast by Olumide Okunola, Speeches and testimonials by Dr. Oyewale Tomori, Dr. Ike Neliaku, Prof. E.S Dandaura, Aanoluwapo Roti, to mention but a few.
The closing remarks were taken by a representative of the planning committee, Solomon Dogo, which brought the celebration and colloquium to an end.
Chief Dr. Moji Makanjuola, MFR, is a veteran Nigerian broadcast journalist and Kwara-born pioneer of health journalism who spent 35+ years at NTA, rising to become the first Head of the Health and Gender Desk before retiring. She’s a former National President of NAWOJ, founder of the International Society of Media in Public Health, author of Health Journalism: A Journey with Moji Makanjuola, and recipient of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic national honour for using media to drive public health awareness.
